Diwali Dinner Dhamaka follows
Dandiya night!!!
Venue :- Village Resort – Raghuleela
Mega Mall Vashi Navi Mumbai
Date-01/11/2018
Celebrations Galore in VCare for
patients and people !
A whole chilled out evening. 300
odd cancer patients and a few volunteers
from VCare were together to eat, dance ,laugh and make merry celebrating
festive season in continuance with Dandiya night. VCare took their patients
from Actrec to the Village resort in Radhaleela mall Vashi.
The restaurant owner Mr Bassi
hosts this event year on year and feeds the patients in memory of her mother
who was a cancer victim .
Buses transported the Patients
from Vasundhara Hostel, St.Jude’s , Assam Bhavan, Deepshika Mangalam Foundation
when they reached the venue, VCare volunteers guided them to get to the restaurant.
Patients and care givers were
thoroughly excited to see the buffet spread, starting from Chat corner,
Chinese, North Indian, South Indian, Soda counter, coffee and tea, not to
forget desert and ice cream. As soon they entered the queue for Pani puri in
the chat corner was longer than the OP queue, patients were patiently waiting
for their turn in every food stall. Volunteers interacted and made the patients
feel comfortable. The bearers and servers took extra ordinary care to maintain
health and hygiene in the dining place. More than that , they treated the
guests with utmost grace and concern.
The hall was filled with joy and
laughter and Lo!! the dance floor opened. Anamika, a survivor was so graceful
and nonstop, she inspired the young and old, doctor or patient to tap their
feet and join her and jive.!!!! Nobody wanted the music and dancing to stop.
That was the moment of truth.
Nothing matters.
Indeed nothing mattered!!
Everyone present was letting themselves free and enjoying the moment.
VCare knows to touch the core of
the suffering lot and make them feel that they too are normal human beings and
have a right to enjoy than sulking and self pitying !
Magical moments:- the restaurant
hosted a show that entertained the not only the kids but the adults too. A
short magic program was conducted by the staff magician!
Game spot:- passing the whoop (A
huge ring) was played with the kids. Maybe we can call it musical whoop as in
musical chair!!! Music stopped, and the person had the whoop on was pulled out.
Those who played were so involved and time went by to wind up the evening.
All these activities were done
alongside their dinner.
A group of Assam boys, when asked
what they would want to do in future replied start something like VCare in
Assam😊 what an
inspiration.
Few gifts were distributed to
children and again with lot of happiness and rejuvenated hope to live a healthy
tomorrow the patients bid emotional farewell to VCare volunteers and left in
the same order they entered.
Mrs Manisha Dcruze, wife of
Dr.Decruze, Mr.Gupta husband of Mrs.Vandana, Mrs.Sarin and Dr.Rajiv Sarin, Mrs.Bhat
and Dr.Prashant Bhatt were present to grace the occasion. It was an added
happiness for Dr.Bhat. Sure, he had a memorable birthday!
All the effort is teamwork but
the person who coordinates requires a special mention, Bhanu effectively put
the program in order and coordinated the evening.
It was of course a
heartening experience for all present.
Life is but a bubble! Before it bursts let us try to bring cheer and joy in one
another’s life ! VCare does it again.
